North and South
What to do with this sad little brown table? It had so much potential. So I started with a fresh coat of paint. That always helps. Then, as usual, I changed my mind about what I wanted to do- so I did a reverse stencil. I stripped some of the paint off to reveal the wood in the star portion and painted the other side black. I love the combination of wood and paint. Now this little beauty is headed in the right direction!

Sometimes I see a piece and it just sort of jumps in my arms-"take me home, I could be so much more!" So I usually give in and get the piece. Whats funny is that they usually tell me what they want to be, and this chubby little try wanted to be a table.
I just happened to have a set of reclaimed table legs hanging around the studio that were in need of a mate.
I have always loved old pub signs and the chubby tray and masculine legs seemed to cry out for a "manly" image. The bull was perfect.
The legs were perfect and even came with great gold details at the top-which added a little air of sophistication to the table.
